Can I control my TV functions using only the 52.0?

Postby lbeck02 » Mon Apr 17, 2017 9:13 pm

I recently switched from VIP 722 to Hopper 3. Since the hopper doesn't have integrated OTA content, I have switched the coax from my outdoor antenna to my coax input on my Samsung TV. Pressing the TV button on the 52.0 doesn't seem to switch me to using my remote to control TV functions like changing channel. I have accessed the 52.0 guide and this isn't addressed. How do I change e.g., channels on my TV (not the sat) by using only the 52.0?

Is there a list of TV codes to enter into the 52.0?

Also, is this a learning remote (like the 21.1)?

In the menu, you can program your remote to your tv under the Remote Settings. You also want to make sure that the limited mode is turned off. Also found in remote settings.

That works. Thanks.

I wish that Dish had better documentation for the Hopper system to reduce my need to fly blind or consult experts like you online.
