TV Guardian on older Hopper

Postby skipole57 » Sun Dec 03, 2017 7:18 am

I've read earlier that the TV Guardian app WILL become available on older Hoppers, ours included. Is this true? Someone in Dish chat said our Hopper isn't compatible but I believe this was just a ploy to try and get us to upgrade to the Hopper 3 . Any thoughts/help? :?: :?:

If you have the new interface, you should be able to access that from the 'Apps' menu. If you're still on the old UI, you would have to upgrade first which can be done through the 'New Hopper Experience' app in that list. That should be available for all Hopper receiver models.

No. I've had the new interface for several months but TV Guardian isn't in my apps

Thanks! That is the latest software for the regular Hopper receiver, and upon re-looking at this I do understand your original post as it is only on the H3 and any Joey's at this time. I haven't seen anything on my end of it being added to older receiver models, but I can make sure I send this along on my side for you.

Hey, thanks! You said it's on all Joeys? We have a wireless Joey in our bedroom.

It is, though I believe they have to be connected to the H3 in order to have the app available since they don't have anything on their own being companion units.

I have a Hopper with Sling and it's on mine. I haven't opened it because I don't need it. It's the app that's in black right?

TV Guardian is only compatible with the Hopper 3 or Joeys connected to the Hopper 3.

The App will be a black image with "TVG" on it with TV highlighted in blue.
